New Mystery Photo

Maybe somebody will know who he is. Ingleton Brass Band trombone player from the 1930's -  40's...

 Ingleton Bandsman

   Mystery WW1 Photograph

I was given this photo from the collection of the late Mr S. Frankland. I have been told the photo is somehow connected to Ingleton. Maybe somebody knows one of the soldiers in the picture who came from Ingleton, or if any body can tell us what regiment they are from. The ages look like 16 at the front to  late 40's.

We have been reliably informed, that the Regiment is the Duke of Wellingtons (West Riding ) Regiment.

The blurred enlargement of the cap badge, is very similar to the modern badge.

But what is the shoulder insignia ?

The should title is (in semi circle West Yorkshire) above it is "T" for Territorial and a Battalion Number, probably No3 or No4 for 3rd or 4th Battalion.

Many thanks for Mike's input on this.

Latest news on the photo....

The photo appears on page 17 of The Ingleton War Memorial 1914 -18 1939 - 45 by Andrew Brooks

A very interesting book, highly recommended. We believe they are part of the 1/6 battalion Duke of Wellington Regt.
