    Beach Assault Training Weekend.

This weekend has been postponed until next year as the film crew are in North Africa filming parts of the El Alamein story. They will be back to film us and make a short film, in June next year. So plenty of time for members to be prepared.

Due to overwhelming demand for our training weekend with US ground and air forces last month, we have managed to become involved in another military exercise for our members. We have been asked to take part in an actual beach assault training day, by the Royal Naval Reserve, stationed nearby. We have been given the sole use of a Higgins Landing craft LCVP Landing Craft Vehicle / Personnel. The RNR have to practice piloting these craft in and out of a combat area, so we are going to be the cannon fodder (so to speak). We are going to get wet, that's inevitable.

This weekend has yet to be finalised, modern health and safety issues now stand in our way. No live rounds will be fired, but plenty of blank ammunition will be issued, you will still need to bring your fire arms certificate, driving licence and passport if you have one. Most of the weapons you will be firing during the weekend, will be modern assault weapons of all sizes and calibres. From pistols and rifles, SMGs and LMG,s, to full assault automatic rifles and GPMG machine guns. Sorry, no grenades this time. Remember your training from last time, and we wont go far wrong. There will be plenty ground and water charges going off, so please remember to bring the ear plugs you were issued with at the last exercise. Location and date is being withheld at the moment by the M.O.D, as the RNR base is still on alert. As soon as we know any more details, those members who have signed their heath insurance, and wavers, will be contacted by their senior officer. Members only.

See you on the beeches...
